Patrick N. Ryan, who was appointed by Grant County Circuit Judge Manuel Guerrero to defend Mrs. Schmidt, also «eid she was in Richmond State Hospital, a mental institution, for about a month last year on commitment by her husband. “The police investigation was conducted in total disregard for her constitutional rights,” Ryan said. “They had no right to treat her like they have, especially since she has been in a mental institution.”
In memory of Glen Clark who passed away May 27, 1965. Where he sat and talked with us There’s just an empty chair And silence now of evening Seems more than we can bear. Though we knew that some day There would be that empty chair Yet we could never picture Home without him there. We never fully realized How deeply one can care Until we stood alone one night Beside his empty chair. Sadly missed by Wife and family.
“They questioned the poor woman for two or three days without letting up,” he said. Local police officers were scheduled to arrive in Arkansas today to question the man Mrs. Schmidt accused of killing her husband. A county grand jury will get the case Friday.

A local Toenagor's View By Janet Staub It Is just another fact of life that human beings have to put up with and that is the situation of "everyday frustrations.” Everyday frustrations can be traced to when a person gets up in the morning. Can’t find the bathrobe or slippers, or even when the paperboy missed a little bit and the paper is on the roof. Well it’s the day of an important appointment — whoops, there goes the ole shoestring. Just as you are ready to leave (that is if you are a female) your slip begins to creep down or a runner develops in that brand new pair of hose. Ah ha, a seat on the bus—oh no, some small child is sitting there—oh well, standing up may get you to improve your posture. So now that the everyday frustrated person is at work he finds out that it is a holiday! After shopping and buying a rather large or small parcel and fighting with it all the way home you unpack it. Exam it. Now comes the real fight to get it back into the box in which it came. The most common of everyday frustrations perhaps is the lost small item. But one logical conclusion can be reached. The object is always found in the last place you look for it That is because after you have found it why bother to search for it any longer. By the way: Congratulations to all Seniors who are graduating this year.
