Dick and Annie Asbell Win Jaycee Road Rally

Dick and Annie Asbell captured first place with Betty Brummett and Bobbie Judy taking the runner-up spot as the Greencastle Jayeeee held their third annual Road Rally Sunday, April 24th. Registration began at 11:30 and by the time the first car left here were 28 cars entered. The first car left the starting point at 12:30 and each other contestant followed at two minute intervals. The Rally took place in Putnam, Parke and Montgomery Counties. The first check point was at the store in Mansfield with Jeff Bish doing the job of checking them through. At the second stop (City Park in Rockville) the Jaycee wives had soft drinks for the drivers. Joe Kerr and Jim McCarter were in charge of checking them through this point Traveling on through beautiful Parke County the next stop brought the contestants to the Greene Twp. School At this point was Danny Duel wtih Ms stop sign to keep them on the right course. After going

through Russellville, Parkersburg and Morton the Rally finally ended at Brick Chapel. The chairman of the Rally, Doyne Priest, would like to thn.uk each and every one who entered and is looking forward to seeing everyone back this fall when another Rally of this type is being planned.

Indians Lose Doubleheader

TULSA, Okla. UPI—The In-

dianapolis Indians lost their bid to gain a .500 percentage in Pacific Const League 'hdseball action Wednesday night by dropping a doubleheader to Tulsa, 10-2 and 3-1. The Oilers used sharp base running and hot bats to trample the Indians, with Lefty Clint Stark getting his first win in the opener thanks to a six-run outbreak in the third inning which included a three-nm homer by Ed Spiezio and a tworun blast by Bobby Tolan. Tolan scored from third on a double-steal in the nightcap for the first Tulsa run, with the game-clinching tallies coming in the seventh on doubles by Walt Williams and Ted Savage and a single by Bobby Pfeil. Reliever Lou Vickery took the loss in the first game and Bill Fischer was tabbed for the loss in the second contest.

Don Sutton, unlike Robin, te one “boy wonder” who Isn’t going to settle for second billing. Given the chance to start behind three of the most respected pitchers in the major leagues, the 21-year-old Sutton is crowding his way into the Los Angeles Dodgers’ spotlight with some brilliant twirling. Sutton, who is known around the Los Angeles area as the “boy wonder” because he is playing only his second season of professional baseball, continued to Impress manager Walter Alston and the rest of the National League Wednesday night by cooling off the hot Atlanta Braves 4-1 with a fivehitter. Although his record with the light-hitting Dodgers is only 22, Sutton has compiled a glittering 2.32 earned run average in 31 innings and has (track out 27. He fanned 10 Atlanta batters and blanked the brawny Braves on four hits until Hank Aaron homered in the wfatk Dave Giusti set down the St. Louis Cardinals on just three bits to give Houston a 3-1 victory and the Cincinnati Reds battered the slumping San Francisco Giants 8-6 in the only other games played in the senior circuit. Pittsburgh at Chicago and New Tork at Philadelphia were rained out. Chicago edged Boston 8-6 and the Washington Senators Wanked the last-place New York Yankees 2-0 in the only American League action. Three junior circuit games—Kansas City at Detroit, Minnesota at Baltimore and California at Cleveland were postponed. Rochester To Meet Cleveland Saturday

TORONTO UPI — The

Rochester Americans, having disposed of Quebec for the second straight year, will meet the Cleveland Barons here Saturday night in the opening game of the best-of-seven finals of the American Hockey League playoffs.

Rochester, which went on to win the Calder Cup last year after knocking off the Aces in the semifinals, eliminated Quebec once again Wednesday night with a 6-3 victory. The Americans thus won the bestof seven semis, four games to two.

To Participate In Tournament

All AJBC members are invited to participate in the annual Junior and Adult Bowling Tournament to be held Saturday, April 30th. The tournament will be conducted during regularly scheduled leagues. Each junior bowler must obtain an adult to bowl with them. Averages of the current season will be used. If an adult has not bowled this season, then an average and handicap will be established during the tournament based on number of games bowled. Cost of bowling will be 70c for Bantams, $1.00 for Juniors and Seniors, and 45c per game for adults. Trophies, furnished by Varsity Lanes, will be awarded to first place boy and girl in Bantam Division and first place boy and girl in Jun-ior-Senior Division. (No awards are given to adults. Only our thanks for making the tournament possible.) The trophies will be presented to the winners at the Putnam County Junior Bowling banquet.
