The mimore Volunteer Fire Dept, made three runs Friday, April 1st to fight grass and trash fires. One in the Parkview edition, back of the Barney Jones home, one mile southeast of town and at the home of "Sonnie” Sutherlin; one northwest of town at the home of Buford Philips. Lonnie and Eddie Hubbard left early Tuesday a. m. with the Indianapolis News and Greencastle Banner carriers, for a trip to Fort Knox and Mammouth Cave. Each won the trip by getting subscribers to the Indianapolis News. They returned home eadly Thursday am.
Mrs. Julia Jordan and eons and Mrs. Hallie Magill spent Monday In Cicero. Mrs. Huldah Wright was released from the Putnam County Hospital Monday. Mrs. Marguerite Robinson of Coatesville is caring for her. Mr. and Mrs. David Grimes Sr., moved last week into the home vacated by the David Grimes Jr. family, who recently moved to Clarinda, Iowa. Rebekah Dist. 19 spring meeting was at Fillmore April 5.105 atteded the afternoon session and 76 the night session. Greencastle Beehive won the plaque for largest Increase In member-
ship and Fillmore won the gavel for best attendance. The women of the firemans auxiliary served a fried chicken supper. Mrs. Helen Knetzer entertained the Beech Grove Pleasant Circle Wednesday afternoon. Sixteen members answered roll call with a joke or riddle. Mrs. Evelyn Arnold read the paper and Miss Grace Arnold furnished the entertainment. Delicious refreshments were served by the hostess. Jimmy Jackson of Brownsburg, came Wednesday to spend the rest of the week with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Oran Buis.
Joyce Kelley, small daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Royal Tharp, cut her hand very severely Wednesday evening when she rad her hand thru a glass door. It was treated and at the Putnam County Hospital. Mrs. Rose Tanksley and children of Indianapolis spent Wednes with Mrs. Avaril Huller and Mrs. Daisy Voungerman. Ott Lydick was released from the Putnam County Hospital Wednesday and is at the Ruark Nursing Home. Mrs. Avaril Huller and Mrs. Daisy Youngerman was Thursday evening supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Smith.
Mrs. Anna Garrett will entertain the Service Club Wednesday, April 20. Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Ragan, who have spent the winter in Casa Grande, Aiiz., returned home Sunday, April 3 and find the winterish weather a hardship. Mrs. James Christie and son returned home from the Putnam County Hospital Thursday. Miss Debby Edgel of Greencastle spent Friday with Mrs. Irene Hunter. Mrs. Stephen Trump and son returned to their home Friday. Mrs. Mayleene Puckett underwent surgery at tee Put-
