Award $60,000 To Clinton Widow TERRE HAUTE UPI — A 360.000 award has been made by a federal judge to Mrs. Esther Sasso, widow of a Clinton pipefitter who was killed in an explosion at the Central Nitrogen, Inc., plant in 1963. Judge S. Hugh Dillin entered judgment in the Terre Haute division of Southern Indiana District Federal Court in a suit in which Mrs. Sasso asked 3200.000 as a result of the death of John Sasso, a foreman at the plant. The case was tried more than a year ago. Trials will be held soon in three other damage suits growing out of the same explosion. Kenneth Peck, Clinton, sued the firm for 3200,000, and Harold Nickless, Prairieton, and Robert L. Martin, Clinton, sought 3100.000 each.

Students FORTVTLLE UPI — More ♦Han 250 high school students in this small town about 15 miles northeast of Indianapolis marched through the downtown section Friday to protest an older folks squabble over a new bunding. Mount Vernon High School Principal E. C. McCleerey said the demonstration was “unfortunate,” but admitted that more than half the 500 pupils in ins school participated. He added that “the either half’ were probably marching along in spirit.” Authorities said the orderly demonstration began when the students congregated on the school grounds and then set off for the downtown area. Some carried placards calling far an end to a dispute which has been taken to court over a financing plan for a new 32.2 million junior-senior high school building. McCleerey said the students would be marked absent for the day, but did not comment on any punishment which might be dealt out. He said he thought the students were protesting ‘the poor physical condition of the high school.’ ’ Says U. S. Must Pull Out Troops MOSCOW UPI — Foreign Minister Andrei Gromyko said today the United States must withdraw its troops from Viet Nam and stop raids on the North if it wants to end the war. Gromyko reaffirmed the familiar Communist stand at the fifth session of the Soviet Party Congress in the Kremlin’s huge Palace of Congresses. ‘To end the war in Viet Nam,” he eaid, “the United States must withdraw its troops from Viet Nam and discontinue at once acts of piracy against the Democratic Republic of North Viet Nam. It must stop trampling on the Geneva agreements on Indochina ...” Gromyko spoke after Defense Minister Rodion Malinovsky had declared that Russia will give “decisive assistance” to the Vietnamese Communists. The foreign minister told about 5,000 delegates to the congress that Russia supports the demands of the Hanoi regime and the Communists in South Viet Nam. They demand withdrawal of U.S. troops, a halt in bombing, dismantling of military bases and recognition of the Communists af the “only true representatives” of the South Vietnamese people.
