Coart Reverses Burial Ruling INDIANAPOLIS UPI — The Ttirtiaea Appleate Court ruled that "a husband is liable to provide burial for hi* wife in keeping with the station in life of the husband.” The state court reversed St Joseph Superior Court 2 which had ruled in favor of the husband, Alfred Iden, and against Eugene Fortson, father of the late Mrs. Alfred Iden. Evidence was that Mrs. Iden was separated from her husband but was still legally married to him. She was HI at the home of her parents over a long period of time before her death. When the husband failed to made burial arrangements, the father did so and later sued his former son-in-law to recover the|687 burial expense. The husband had been the beneficiary of a $1,000 insurance policy on the life of Mrs. Iden. Judge Hubert Wickens, who wrote the Appellate Court opinion, noted that evidence showed the husband was earning more than 5,000 a year and that the burial cost was “in keeping with the station in life of the husband." The lower court was directed to enter a judgement in favor of Fortson.

Rhodesia Will Bo Major Issue LONDON UPI—The Conservative party opposition is determined to make Rhodesia a major issue in Britain’s March 31 general election. Former Prime Minister Sir Alec Douglas-Home, a leading Tory spokesman, said Wednesday In a speech at Lancaster that Prime Minister Harold Wilson had failed to provide the statesmanhsip” needed to end Rhodesia’s secession. The government of Premier Ian Smith seised its independence last Nov. 11 and the Conservatives contend that the Labor government’s program of massive economic sanctions has beat a failure. "Of course the situation is difficult,” the former prime minister said, “but it is then that statesmanship is put to the test Hi this case, it has failed.”

Zsa Zsa Will Seek Divorce From Husband No. Four

EL PASO, Tex. UPI—Zsa Zsa Gabor, protected against El Paso’s west Texas winds by a full-length ermine cost and accompanied by her sister Eva, arrived at the border Thursday to file for a Mexican divorce from her fourth husband. Zsa Zsa married Herbert Hutner in 1962. They parted “amicably” later, she said. She hired Juarez, Mexico, lawyer Jose Amador Ytrias to handle the divorce proceedings for her. The two sisters appeared happy when they alighted from an airplane. It was windy, but not cold. Eva wore a full-length ocelot coat. “Are you having one of your sand storms, dahling?” Zsa Zsa asked a group of people who gathered to watch the arrival. Mias Gabor, 43, and Hutner, chairman of the board of Struthers Wells Corp., were

married Nov. 6, 1962 in New York.

M3ss Gabor’s marital career began at age 16 when she mar' ried Burhan Belgee, then Turkish ambassador to Hungary. Her second husband* was hotelman Conrad Hilton and her third actor George Sanders. All ended in divorce.

Bidder And Player Tie In Team Match By Alfred Shetawold Which is more important—bidding or play? At both tables West led a trump, and South won. Both declarers cashed the top. hearts

and ruffed a heart Here they parted company. At the first table. South led a low diamond. West won and led a second trump. Now South could eventually ruff a diamond in dummy and discard another diamond on the ace of clubs, but he still had to lose the queen of diamonds at the end. Down one. At the other table, the fine player led the queen of diamonds from his hand instead of the low diamond. This fine play forced East to win the trick, and East could not return a trump. GETS 12 TRICKS The second declarer managed to win 12 tricks because he could ruff two diamonds in dummy and discard his last diamond on the ace of clubs. But this did him no good because somehow he had managed to bid a grand slam instead of stopping at six spades. Down one also. If you’re looking for a moral,

couldn’t make seven spades no matter what was led or how any suit broke. The good bidder would have made six spades against any lead but a trump or if either spades or hearts had broken evenly. A good bidder seldom has problems in the play of the cards. A good player cannot solve all fo the problems that he has created by his bad bidding. DAILY QUESTION Partner deals and bids one spade, and the next player passes. You hold: S-Q 6 5 H-A 10 t 7 5 D-7 C-A 9 5 4. What do you say? ANSWER: Bid two hearts. You plan to show the spade support next, thus indicating that your hand is too strong for a raise to two spades but not strong enough for a jump to three spades. If you have passed originally, it is better to risk the jump raise at once since your hand is limited by the fact that you could not open the bidding.
