hen Probe Of Barka Scandal PARIS UPI — The De Gaulle government today pressed Its investigation of the Ben Barka scaiidal amid growing signs that France and Morocco were trying to avoid formal diplomatic split over the affair. Investigating magistrate Andre Zollinger questioned a senior police official and a journalist in connection with the Paris kidnaping and apparent murder of Mehdi Ben Barka, exiled Moroccan leftist leader, last October. Also, an experienced Moroccan diplomatic trouble-shooter was in Paris today on what was officially billed as a private visit, but presumably would Involve talks with Gaullist officials. “Many Frenchmen want to keep good relations between our two countries,” he said. “It is the same with us.”
