Mrs. Joe Liechty on Wednesday, January 12th. The meeting was called to order by the club president, Mrs. Jerry Ozment After the Flag Salute and the club creed, Mrs. Ray Nichols gave the history of the song of the month “When Tou and I Were Young Maggie.” The secretary’s report was read by Mrs. Joe Liechty. A safety report was given by Mrs. C. J. Huller and Mrs. Dallas Nichols gave the club’s financial report for 1965. Mrs. Betty Rector was installed as the club’s treasurer by Mrs. Ozment. Mrs. Don Wagner and Mrs. Ozment reported on the council meeting. The club discussed plans and suggestions were made for the National Home Demonstration Week In May. A very informative and wen presented lesson on Cheese Cookery was given by Mrs.
Bflly Woods and Mrs. Jans Sibbitt. They prepared the California cheese dip, cheese caraway sandwich loaf, the big burger bake and the lime Jello salad ring with cream cheese and there were several types of cheese for the members to sample. The lesson and refreshments were enjoyed by everyone. The door prize was won by Mrs. Gene Cash. Mrs. Jim Woods was welcomed as a new member to the club. The next meeting will be held Feb. 9th at 7:30 with Mrs. Betty Rector.

Mother, Five Children Perish MELVILLE, La. UPI — A 28-year-old mother and her five young children died Wednesday in a fire and explosion which destroyed their small frame home. Investigators said the six members of the Negro family were killed after a 5-gallon kerosene can used to start a wood fire exploded and sprayed its fiery contents all over the house. The victims were Mrs. Geraldine Tunwar, her four daugh-
ters, Elsie, 11, Bobble Mae 9, Mary Ann, 5, and Rosemary, 3; and her son Charles Jr., 7. Mrs. Tunwar’s husband, Charles Tunwar, 52, was seriously burned.
Senators Hear Secy. McNamara WASHINGTON UPI — Defense Secretary Robert S. McNamara went to Capitol Hill today to press for early passage of President Johnson's request for $12.7 billion in extra funds to fight the war in Viet Nam. McNamara testified before a closed session of the Senate Armed Services Committee and military appropriations subcommittee on military portions of the request for additional
appropriations for the fiscal year which ends June 30. Before McNamara’s appearance the chairman of the two groups. Sen. Richard B. Russell, D-Ga., said the President could have anything needed for the war effort. But a great debate was expected in both the Senate and the House before the money bill finally goes to the White House.
Johnson Flies To Kansas City WASHINGTON UPI—President Johnson flies to Missouri today to mark the inauguration of a $50,000 annual Harry S. Truman Peace Prize and at the same time get in a good word for the foreign aid program. The President, accompanied by Chief Justice Earl Warren,

planned to take off from Andrews Air Force Base outside Washington for the approximately two-hour flight to the Kansas City, Mo., Municipal Airport. He will leave at about 9 a.m. EST.
