On Christinas Eve, Louie Wright, one time a Hadley and later an Amo school boy, passed away at his home near. Indianapolis. He was 82 years of age. Most of his active life was
Recruiter Held On Bribe Charge NEW YORK UPI — The FBI has arrested another Army recruiter, the second in little more than a month, on charges of taking a bribe to help a civilian get into the National Guard in order to beat the
draft.
The FBI identified the suspect as Sgt. Joseph M. Bizier, an 11 year veteran from Brooklyn. He allegedly solicited and received money from Douglas A. Planz of New York to put his name at the top of the National Guard waiting list.

Egypt suffered from a plague of frogs back in Moses’ day. Coatesville has suffered from a plague of loose dogs for months that chase over everyone’s
premises.
OAKLAND. Calif.—Fleet Admiral Chester W. Nimitz, who took command of the battered U.S. Pacific Fleet shortly after the bombing of Pearl Harbor and led it to victory against the Japanese, was in serious condition today in Oakland
Naval Hospital.
The Methodist minister, Rev- j erend John Deal, has suffered: for several days with a severe case of inflamed throat. Mr. Kenneth Edwards was a dinner guest of Mr. and Mrs. Luther Summers on Christmas
Day.
Mrs. Muriel Despain of Indianapolis was a guest of her brother, Raymond RoUings, on Christmas Day. Sunday, December 19, Mrs. Edna Smith had a family gettogether and gift exchange. Those who attended the repast were: Mr. and Mrs. Russell Shoemaker and family, Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie Shoemaker and children, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Shoemaker and Cathy, all of Fillmore; Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Shoemaker and Mr. and Mrs. David Shoemaker of Greencastle, and Mr. and Mrs. William Alsop and family of Indianapolis. Mrs. Eva McNary was a caller Wednesday at the home of Mrs. Edna Smith. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Johnson and children of Plainfield were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Davidson Tuesday evening. Two Coatesville boys, Paul and Patrick Wingler, sold enough subscriptions for the “Indianapolis News” to entitle them to a trip to New York City. The lads report a fine ride, their first one on a railroad and a wonderful sightseeing excursion around the great city. They left Indianapolis Monday and were back home Thursday. While Joe Davidson was shopping in Greencastle Friday, he saw a truck and a car get together with a bang at the Dr. Steele comer. Quite a lot of dirt was knocked loose from both vehicles and it looked as if it would take some two hundred dollars worth of face lifting to put each machine in a normal condition. No one was
hurt.
Duffy and his Michigan State boys were licked in the big post season game as more than a hundred thousand onlookers would testify. As Bobby Bums once said, “The best laid schemes of mice and men go often wrong.” Duffy’s team was the favorite to
win.
Sunday was the date for the annual get-together of kinsmen 1 at the Davidson home. Those attending were Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Ruark and Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Ruark and daughter of Lebanon; Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Pickens and Mr. and Mrs. Larry Pickens and son of Belle Union, and Mr. and Mrs. Gene Johnson and children of Plainfield. After the dinner the men enjoyed the pro football game.
