BIG YEAR FOR CAR VACATIONS WASHINGTON (UPI) — Americans on automobile vacation and pleasure trips will spend more than $1.7 billion as they roll up 79.8 billion miles on the highways this summer, according to Paul R. Gingher, president of the American Automobile Association (AAA). AAA’s estimate for the year’s total vacation expenditures by motorists is $22.5, and a mileage of 140 billion.
