Draft Dodger To Face Trial HONOLULU UPI — Barry ; Cartmell, 28, Indianapolis, was awaiting return to his hometown to stand trial on a draft
dodging charge.
Cartmell turned himself in to a U. S. marshal as ordered by a federal judge last Friday. He had been free on $1 bail. An assistant U. S. attorney said last week Cartmell was indicted by the Indianapolis grand jury in March of last year on two counts — for failing to report for induction as ordered in December, 1960, and for failing to keep his local board notified of his current address.

Female Pastor Loses Certificate CARSON CITY, Nev. UPI — A female minister lost her certificate to perform weddings on grounds she backdated a permit to allow a young man to escape the military draft. Dist. Judge Richard Waters Jr., revoked the certificate of the Rev. Opal Boeller after a
two hour hearing.
She had been charged with backdating the time of the ceremony from Aug. 27 to Aug. 26. It was on Aug. 26 that President Johnson announced that young men who were married by midnight could get deferments from the draft. Hundreds
