Soviets Claim Moon Picture MOSCOW UPI — The Russians say they have snapped a photograph of Luna — through Europe's largest mirror telescope to pinpoint its path toward the moon for what may be an attempt for a soft land-

ing.

The official Tass News Agency said the photograph was taken by the 2.6 meter mirror telescope at the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory of the Soviet Academy of Sciences, “the biggest in the U.S.S.R. and Europe.” “The Crimean astrophysicists used their method of photographmg which makes it possible to get on the same photograph an image of an object in motion in the form of a chain consisting of three points,” Tass said. “This makes it much easier to distinguish the object from the great number of weak •tars.”

Four Killed In Home Explosion CLIFTON, N. J. UPI — A young couple and their two children were killed Tuesday night when a thunderous explosion ripped their modest home apart. Daniel Biddulph, a Korean war veteran, and his wife, Ellen, both about 30. were in the living room when the blast knocked out a wall of the story-and-a-half frame house shortly before midnight. Their two children, Heidi, 7, and Daniel, 7, were asleep in their beds upstairs when the explosion occurred, apparently in the basement. All four were killed instantly. The blast touched off a fire which destroyed the house. Fire officials suspected the blast was caused by a gas leak or a faulty oil burner but were unable immediately to get into the basement to thoroughly examine the wreckage.
