| the leadership of Mrs. John Nanovsky sponsored a pitch-in pic- | nic on Tuesday, August 31. This | picnic at Robe-Ann park is an ; annual event for the purpose of welcoming new boys to the squad. A large number of boys and their parents were present and as usual, the pitch-in buffet was generous both in quantity and variety. Mrs. Nanovsky called upon Hugh Henry to say Grace. After the meal Jerry Chance was introduced. Head Coach Chance began by introducing all guests present includcoaches and achool administra-
tion. He continued by having each member of the squad stand individually while he stated the boy’s positions and a personal word about him. Mr. Chanca had some encouraging words to say to the whole group about the fine performance of the boys in preliminary practice and concluded wuth a plea to the parents for support during the coming season. George Henry was spokesman for the boys in expressing appreciation to the mothers for the delicious meal.
Greencastle High School’s rallying Tiger Cubs will kick off another grid-iron season Friday night when they will encounter Mooresville on the home battle front at 8:00 p.m. After almost two weeks of double-time practice sessions coaches Jerry Chance and Hal Sampson have moulded their fifteen returning lettermen and twenty-four prospects together for what they hope to be a winning Tiger Cub team. Last year the Cubs produced one of the most tragic season
