Zoo Is Offered Famous Horses DETROIT UPI — Millions of radio listeners no longer thrill i to the thundering hoof-beats from out of the past. And the Detroit Children’s 1 Zoo isnt even sure it wants the great horse Silver, the faithful | steed of that famous masked i champion of law and order on i the airwaves, the Lone Ranger. Mrs. Brace Beemer, widow of radio's Lone Ranger, said she has offered the original Silver, age 24, and a second Silver, 14, to the zoo. "We thought it would be a nice gesture to give ! them to the children of the city,” she said. But the zoo said special quari ters would have to be constructed for the two horses and there is concern that the animals might be dangerous because of their advanced ages. So the zoo hasn't decided whether they'll be accepted. Hi-Yo Silver, Away!
