In Memory

In loving memory of our dear Mother, Margaret Overshiner, who left us just a year ago, August 4th, 1964. Though you smiles are gone forever, And your hands we cannot touch, , We will never lose sweet me- ' mories. Of the one we loved so much. God gave us strength to face it. And courage to bear the blow, But what it meant to lose you, No one will ever know. Sadly missed by the children

No Merger sources that the chairman, who exerts considerable influence on most of the other members, did not see how the legislation authorizing the merger could possibly clear all hurdles by midSeptember, when Congress is expected to adjourn. The only ray of hope for the Pentagon — which believes it is essential to merge now — lay in the possibility that Johnson would take an active and direct interest in the plan. Legislative wheers could be made to spin at high speed if the President told democratic leaders that he wanted Congress to act on the plan before it quit for the year.
