There would be no story If South had guessed right, but the fact is that players often guess wrong if they are given every encouragement to do so. South played the ten of hearts from dummy and lost his slam. You might congratulate West on playing low hearts on the first two tricks in that suit. What an expert he must have oeen to count the hand out so quickly and acurately, thus knowing that it was safe for
him to play ’possum.
The truth of the matter is that West couldn’t count a hand out if his life depended on it. He knew that he needed two tricks to defeat the contract, '

Hours are 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at their home at 923 North Madison. They are the parents of six children: Harold of Phoenix, Arizona, Julian (Dudei of Elkhart, Miss Dorothy Birt at home, Mrs. Cedric (Freda! Collins, Norman (Scorchy) and Jimmy. They have 17 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. They were married in Winfield. Tennessee on August 7, 1915, but have made Greencastle their home for the past 45 years.
