The Daily Banner, Greencastle, Putnam County, 29 July 1965 — Page 2
2 Th« Daily Bannar, Graaneaatla, Indiana Thursday, July 29, 1965 Editorial-Wise Bridge Is Dangerous A bridge located approximately four miles west of the city has caused quite a bit of confusion in the past couple of months, but if someone doesn't take some action there * going to be a lot more trouble real soon! The old Ruark bridge, which is one of the oldest bridges in Putnam County, was built in 1901. The old landmark served farmers for sixty-three years until it came close to collapsing when an overloaded low-boy tractor and trailer crossed it. Now the county highway department has posted the bridge with a three ton load limit, allowing cars to travel the route. But. as is always the case, a minority of the people are not heeding the warnings. Farmers, construction workers, and truck drivers are using the bridge without any consideration of the consequences. It is a shame some people do not have enough consideration for their neighbors or themselves to abide by what is best for the majority. There is only two things left. Either the county will have to take action and close the road to everyone or someone will topple to his death with the bridge and his truck!

Of these, it is cutting, color and clarity which determines the per-carat price of average-size gems. Accuracy of cutting is of prime importance to the beauty of your diamond since any deviation from ideal proportions noticeably affects fire and brilliance of the stone.
