Editorial-Wise A Tribute To The Hudlins This newspaper wishes to pay a belated tribute to a well known Greencastle couple, whose tragic fatal traffic accident last week, came as a great shock to their family and their many, many friends. Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Hudlin were the type of citizens that make this community a place in which everyone is proud to live and call home. Quiet, unassuming. God-fearing people, they were respected by all with whom they came in contact during their many years of residence in this city. They were very conscientious in every endeavor in which they participated and were faithful members of The First Christian Church. Their two daughters, their husbands and a grandson were always first in their hearts and minds. They were also good neighbors and stood ready to assist friends in any way in times of distress and sorrow. Lyman Hudlin and Rowena Hudlin are gone, but they will never be forgotten by those who knew them. The Daily Banner extends its most sincere sympathy to their daughters, Mrs. Erma Chaney and Mrs. Enid Hillis.

Balmain.

Ever since designer Cristobal Balenciaga tried a bare shoulder gown last year, and Jacqueline Kennedy put one on the front pages, the idea has been catching on. Balmain, the dresser of queens and film stars, tried the naked shoulder with a short heavy white silk evening dress. Two of his willowy models also paraded by in flowing chiffon long gowns, one in red and the other black. One shoulder was bare and the other decorated with a velvet bow. Thinking East had led from a suit headed by jack-ten. South played low from his hand and won with dummy’s queen of clubs. When East regained the lead with the ace of hearts he led another club, and West defeated the contract with three club tricks. Very pretty, for serious students of the game.
