night after being held up since late Friday by West German customs officials. Western officials at the Ruehen crossing point on the Mittelland Canal said four more East German barges were processed early this morning without incident. The Western officials blocked the Communist barges when their crews refused to honor passes issued under four-power postwar agreement. The barges claimed they were no longer acceptable. East German Premier Willy Stoph, in a speech Sunday, said four-power agreements for supply lines to Berlin must now be replaced by agreements between East and West Germany. West Germany honors the four-power agreements and maintains that, because it does not recognize East Germany as a legitimate state, agreements between the divided nation are out of the question.

IT’S CURTAINS FOR MOSQUITOES CHICAGO UPI — Warm summer nights on your back porch can be made more comfortable without screening it in. Just hang pieces of dry ice and mosquitoes will seem to bump their beaks on an invisible curtain. The reason, according to the Cardox division of Chemetron Corp. is that dry ice gives off carbon dioxide which is heavier than air, and as it floats downward it forms a screen with lower oxygen content. As the mosquitoes are oxygen-lovers, they are repelled. Be sure to wear gloves when handling dry ice.
