Young Man Selected To Visit Copenhagen
David Williamson, a twenty-year-old man from Evansville, has been selected as Indiana's DIADEM representative to Visit Copenhagen, Denmark, for three weeks this summer. DIADEM refers to Disabled Americans Denmark Meeting. David, along with representatives from all other states of the union will be guests of the Lord Mayor of Copenhagen. A special feature of this particular visit is that all of these youngsters are disabled. David suffered polio in 1952, the result of which he is a paraplegic. In spite of his disability, David completed high school in Evansville where he was active in various student affairs and is now a freshman student at Southern Illinois University. He is an avid sports fan and an outstanding participant in wheelchair athletic competition. He participates in competition with the Tri-State Wheelchair Recreation Association sponsored by
fhe Easter Seal Society in Evansville. I All goodwill ambassadors of the DIADEM pro-^ct are being sponsored by the Easter Seal Socieues of tne vanuus stales, ine i Easter Seal Society in Evansville sponsored David because of the youngster's outstanding ad- j justment to his disability. David ! has been an active participant | in Easter Seal activities, notably | the athletic programs. In addition to the athletic programs,! the Society sponsors a Rehabili- . tation Center offering medical, psychological, social, vocational and speech and hearing services j to children and adults from throughout the southwestern part of the state. The Society also engages in summer camping activities for disabled youths. David is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ross Williamson of Evansville. At Southern Illinois University he is majoring in special education.

The films showed White, dressed in a sparkling white uniform, maneuver out of the small space craft into space, tied to the Gemini-4 with a 25foot tether. The early scenes of the brief film picture showed White moving smoothly out to the end of the cord tying him to the ship. The film indicates no problems with the maneuvering. The color films were released by space officials today at Houston. They were to be showm on national television throughout the day.
