Chlidren of the Roachdale community are now registering for the Summer Reading Program at the Roachdale Public Library. The theme of the reading club is based on the New York World's Fair and is called
the “Fun Fare.”
Each child is given a Fun Fare ticket which has space on the back to record the titles of ten books. Certificates will be given those reading ten books during the reading program, which will continue through July, and a party will be held

Mother-DMfhtM Banquet IMjoyed The annual Mother-Daughter banquet was held on May 28th at 6:30 P.M. in the basement of the Roachdale Christian Church. There were between 90 and 100 members and guests present for a pitch-in supper. Corsages were presented to Dorothy Lawler for the most daughters present, and Ethel Eggers for thn oldest mother present. Carol H. Keck acted as mistress of ceremonies for the following program presented by talent of the church. Carol L. Keck, Carolyn Jones, Bernice Wilson, Darlene Buzzard, Betty Aliff, sextet, Louetta Howard, Sharon Parks, Carla Faller, a sax trio, Marilyn Call, a reading, “If Jesus came to your House,” Devotions by Carol L. Keck, a tribute to mothers and daughters, Ruth and Sheila Hueston, and a solo by Mary Holland. Mrs. Ray Britton closed the program with benediction.

Belle Union, Bainbridge, and Fillmore. have made application for membership in the new tribe and by so doing, will have their name on the new charter. The members of the newly organized council of the Degree of Pocahontas will serve sandwiches and drinks. Any male person over the age of 16 years wishing to become a member should be at the Fairgrounds Saturday evening. At which time their application can be voted upon and they can also take the degree work the same night. The minimum limit for membership in the Degree of Pocahontas is 16 years also.
