t Th« Daily Banner, Graaneastla, Indiana Thursday, May 20,1965 Editorial-Wise Congratulations Jaycees Greencastle s Junior Chamber of Commerce is certainly an outstanding organization of young and energetic businessmen. This quality was recognized by the other Jaycee groups over the state when the local men were voted the Number One Jaycee club in Indiana last weekend during the convention at Evansville. Sheinwold On Bridge Make Correct Play In Spite Of Crttiee By ALFRED SHEINWOLD I do not expect to win the Nobel Prize for Literature with this column. These days, Literature tends to show that nothing turns out well, no matter what you do. In a bridge column he hero triumphs if he makes the right play. Very unfashionable. Now South knows that West has the ace of spades. It would be fatal to let East win a trick and lead through the queen of spades. It would not be dangerous to let West win a trick, since a spade continuation from West would give declarer a second spade trick. Our hero has to play the diamonds in such a way as to give a trick to West but not to Eaat. The right play is to lead out dummy’s ace and king of diamonds instead of trying a finesse. South's virtune is rewarded when the queen of diamonds drons. South takes six diamond tricks, two hearts, a spade and a club, making his contract with an overtrick. WOULD LOSE If South unwisely took a diamond finesse, East would win and return the jack of spades. Then Wert, would defeat the contract with the rest of the spades. ‘This is not true to Life,” they will stay in Stockholm, when they consider giving this column the Nobel Priz* ‘‘In Real Life, East would have three i diamonds to the queen, and South would fall on his nose no matter how he played ths hand. A local Teenager's View Janet Staub Ahh Senior Week, sweet sweet Senior Week. The time of the year when Juniors are tops, and Sophomores are next best. But the best part of it is that “No Seniors” are around. Seniors aren't really so bad, until they become “Seniors.” The dreadful disease of "Senioritis” usually strikes the last day of school when the Juniors are finally given their cards and, if they are lucky, and have enough credits become “SENIORS.” All through that Magic Summer the new Seniors are very busy getting pictures and making plans. On the first day of school the new seniors usually find a meeting place and congregate there all year. As Senior Cords appear the disease becomes more apparent. Finally the last six weeks grading period rolls around, by this time all Seniors have been exposed to the “disease.” "All Seniors should report to the gym,” the announcement comes over the loudspeaker, but it may as well say “Well underclassmen the old guys are getting their class picture, don’t expect them to talk to you little kids for awhile.” Senior Week finally comes, and where do you find the Seniors? Almost all of them come back for a visit or go past the building with an odd look in their eyes. Really Seniors aren’t as bad as I may have made them to seem. I just hope I can be as good as they ars, sometime.

Collectors Items WASHINGTON UPI — The odds art long against the man in the street ever getting one of the 45 million silver dollars that President Johnson has ordered mined unless he pays premium prices. Congress, coin dealers and Treasury officials are willing to bet good money that the silver dollars will never find their way into western-state cash registers, as Johnson suggested Saturday, but will end up in the hands of hoarders, speculators and coin collectors.
