BOY SCOUTS PLANT TREES, SHRUBS
Thirteen boys from Boy Scout Troop No. 99. under the supervision of Soil Conservationist George Murphey, planted 1.500 trees and shrubs. The boys worked hard at this community project which took place at Fern Cliff on Tuesday afternoon, April 27th. The trees and shrubs were purchased by the Putnam Friend of Y'outh Foundation, Inc., which is working on the development of Camp Friend and Fern Cliff. The Boy Scouts taking part in this project were: Paul Wagoner, Larry Vaughn, David Brattain, Larry Jonej», Pete Reed, Mike Nodley, Bill Coyner, Sonny Fowler, Scott Loring, Richard Burkett, Nibs Knight, Dwight Matthew* and Bill Hamm.

SEATTLE, Mash. UPI — A strong, rolling earthquake shook the Pacific Northwest today from Mashlngton-Oregon border to Kalispell. Mont. At least two persons were killed. One man died when he was hit by failing debris from the King Street railroad station here and another was killed by falling debris on Harbor Island. An elderly woman resident of Olympia the state capital, died of a heart attack during the quake.
