* Riggs worked hard as a boy to develop the com ordination of lips, jaw, tongue and larynx which helped him become the youngest auctioneer as a 17 year old. Two years later he established himself as the best, selling 784 baskets of tobacco in just 42 minutes—a mark which hasn't been matched in the ensuing 30 years.

Radio and TV audiences hava known Riggs since 1937 when he began delivering his chant on radio for the American Tobacco Company. Absent from the airwaves since 1954, he returns to network TV this year on behalf of the new Lucky Strike Filters. His chant will be the same pleasant babble which has amused and baffled audiences through the years. However, the familiar LS/MFT will now stand for “Lucky Strike Means Flavor Tip.” K
