Traffic Crashes Kill Teenagers By United Pren International Two fiery crashes, including one that killed three youths ran Indiana’s 1965 traffic fatality toll to at least 263 today compared with 212 a year ago. At least two persons were killed, possibly more, in a flaming pileup of a truck and a car on U. S. 52 just south of Earl Park this morning. Three Washington youths were killed and two others injured Monday night when their convertible went out of control six miles northeast of Vincennes on Indiana 550. The car ran off a curve, apparently at high speed, skidded nearly 400 feet, overturned, skidded another 100 feet, and then rammed into a tree, bursting into flames. Dead were Steven Jones, 19, the driver; Michael Bulock, 20, and Allen Dougherty, 19. Jones was killed when he was hurled from the car and the others died in the burning vehicle. Flames kept passersby from the victims who were pinned in the wreckage. Kenneth Showalter, 19, and Mike Risley, 18. both of Washington, were taken to Vincennes Good Samaritan Hospital, Risley in critical condition. Gary Pride, Wheatland, told police he arrived on the scene just after the accident but was

unable to reach the victims in the wreckage due to the heat. Showalter and Risley were both thrown clear. Carl Powers, 48, Greensburg, was killed Monday when his truck carrying a load of hogs overturned on a curve in a county road four miles southwas thrown out of the truck
