Rev. Roscoe McPherson, pastor of Lena Methodist Church, recently received the Farm Bureau award for Rural Church Improvement. Mrs. Darrell Call, Jackson Township Farm Bureau women’s leader, presented a plaque and a check to the church for being the first place winner of District 5. The award is based on improvements made on rural churches during the past year. Lena Methodist Church is located in the southeast corner of Parke County and its active members live in Parke, Putnam and Clay Counties.
