UPI — Famed Monomoy Light, which for a century warned sailors in treacherous Cape Cod waters, has begun a new career—as a research site of the Massachusetts Audubon Society. Millions of shorebirds pause in the area each spring and autumn en route from the Arctic to the southern hemisphere. The society will operate a banding station at Monomoy and conduct field research into little known facts of bird life.
