2 l*h« Daily Bannar, Graaneastla, Indiana Thursday, February 11,1965 Editorial-Wise Wafer On Both Shoulders? Is the Soviet Union carrying water on both shoulders ? It would appear so in attempting to reassert its influence in Southeast Asia. The Russians, on one hand, accuse the United States »f “barbarous” bombing of Laos and of threatening to extend the war to all of Indochina. On the other hand, there is no evidence that the Soviets seek a direct clash with the United States. In fact, they are apparently looking forward to a betterment of relations through a meeting of their top leaders with President Johnson. Some diplomatic sources have suggested that in Southeast Asia, even a United States presence is preferred to the Soviets against a takeover by Red China. Maybe something of a concrete nature will develop between the two nations as Mr. Johnson says he wants to go to Russia and have the Kremlin top brass come to Washington. On the surface, at least, the breach between the Chinese Reds and the Russians has not been closed. Is it possible that the Soviets now want the U.S. as an ally instead of Red China or do they ? From recent warnings issued and by permitting storming of the U.S. Embassy in Moscow it would appear that they don't.

Our Working Wives

America's wives and mothers are going back to work. Millions of them are doing so not only to add to the family income, but also to expand their knowledge, vocational skills and enjoyment of life.

I feel needed again,” they say. Or,- “For the first time I’m a person.” Or even, "My husband says I’m more interesting to be with, and my children are all for it.” Many of these resourceful wives work for home product firms that employ housewives as sales consultants. Relax-A-Cizor, the company that makes the small device used by women to reduce hips, waist, thighs and abdomen, is one of these. Ytm -ihr

A maintenance workman is shown inserting a Dynabolt drop-in masonry anchor to re-secure a bronze door saddle at Brooklyn Tech High School. Cost-saving speed in repair work is a prime objective in more than 100 schools in the northwestern sector of Brooklyn, where maintenance of bronze door saddles is being completed 60 per cent faster with Dynabolt drop-in masonry anchors, said Clyde Kanz, Sales Manager for Olin’s Ramset Operations. Further, the exceptional holding power of the anchors gives the thresholds additional strength to withstand the punishment from freezing snow, driving rain and the heavy pounding of students’ feet—some shod with football cleats. Loosened door saddles are a continuing problem because frost, rain and debris accumulate under the saddles and work them loose from their bases. Use of the Dynabolt anchors helps speed up maintenance work and eliminates the need of having to cut the bronze door saddles into smaller units, resulting in a more attractive job, Mr. Kanz said. Dynabolt anchors are easy to use and give an unusually strong holding power. The smallest, ‘>4 by 1% inches, can hold as much as 1,000 pounds; one of the largest, %, by 6 inches, set into concrete, can hold as much as 15,000 pounds, he said..
