The Varsity basketball team and the B-team both won their games Friday night against North Salem with a large crowd attending. The highlight of the evening was the crowning of Miss Darlene Buzzard, as home coming queen. Darlene is a member of the Bain bridge
junior class.

Mr. and Mrs. Albert Harsh* barger spent the weekend with their son Dick and family in Manchester and celebrated Mrs. Harshbarger’s birthday. A large number of students will go to Thorntown on February 20th to compete in a district speech contest on dramatic interpretation, humorous interpretation, discussion, debate, extemporaneous oratory, original oratory, poetry and radio. The Bainbridge School band furnished the music at the DePauw - Evansville basketball game at DePauw last Wednesday night. A large crowd was in attendance. Mrs. Margaret Cooper and daughter Ella attended the funeral of Ella’s aunt in Illinois Saturday. Mrs. Ruth Hyatt fell on the porch at her home last Friday morning. She was taken to the hospital where it was found she had a broken right arm and a dislocated shoulder. Miss Rebecca Lewman of In-
dianapolis spent the weekend with her mother, Mrs. Hazel Lewman. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Steele celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary Sunday at their home wtih open house. A large number of friends called and sent cards. Karen Steele and Kim Scherschel registered the guests and pinned on favors. The home was lovely with the many floral pieces and the refreshment table very pretty. Mrs. Dick Judy and Miss Patty Judy served. The three children of Mr. and Mrs. Steele were present, the eleven grandchildren and the two great-grand-children, to make the day a happy and very pleasant one.
