Mrs. Otha C. Faller, president, and Mrs. Sherman Thompson, treasurer, of Theta Lambda Chapter of Delta Theta Tau Sorority, were present Friday, February 5, at the meeting of the Roachdale Library Board to present the Trustees with a check for $500 to be used towards the improvement and modernization of the kitchen in the Library. The sorority's gift to the Library will permit completion, this year, of the program of repair and improvement to the basement of the building. Last year the hall and social room w 7 ere modernized w 7 ith new ceiling tile, wood paneled walls, and new light fixtures. The kitchen will receive similar treatment, and will have adequate facilities for groups wishing to prepare and serve refreshments. Last year the Library’s community room was used by many groups, including the Flower and Garden Club, The Brownie Scouts, the V.F.W. Auxiliary, The Order of the Eastern Star, the Farm Bureau. The Bethel Community Club, groups from the churches in the town, as well as other organizations and individuals. The Library Trustees feel that provision of modern kitchen facilities will add to the convenience of groups using the Library basement, and they are most gi ateful for this generous gift which will benefit the en tire community.
