After 44 minutes of fiery action the Fillmore Cardinals finally out-matched their hustling opponents, the Pittsboro Buorros, 83-73. The East Putnam team broke loose in the fourth overtime of play to out-score Pittsboro for the second time in the tilt twelve points to two. The only other period of hardwood action that the Cards came through was the third quarter where they out paced the Buorros by four points, 53-49. A well-balanced Cardinal scoring attack led by Glaze with 17, Evans, Robinson, Skelton, and Archer popping in 15, 14, 14, and 11 points respectively became the deciding factor in the prolonged contest. A slow starting first quarter that was pulled through by Cardinal Rick Robinson left both teams standing at 14-14. Following a bombardment of baskets the home town Cards managed to grab a five-point margin with 5:36 in the half, 23-18, but the hot hand of setshot artist Schemck put the Pittsboro squad back in play. A topsy-turvy first half closed showing the two teams dead-locked again 32-32. Grabbing a quick lead on the Cards in the 3rd quarter Buorro Vaughn paced the Pittsboro cause by tabulating four of the five points needed to edge out the Cards with 3:26 showing on

the clock.

Mentor McCammack calkd time and inserted big Roy Skelton into the line-up. Skelton rebounded and paced the scoring to bring the Cards back and put them into the lead for the first timo at a stop, 53-49. The fourth period of action closed after the Cardinals and Burros missed free throw opportunities and a numerous number of field goals. Final at the end of regulation time
