A similar measuro was among the flood of bills introduced in the House Tuesday when the legislative blockade was finally broken following the first message of new Governor Roger Branigin. It was generally expected, however, that the House would work on the Senate version of the “right to work’’ repealer rather than on its own version introduced by Reps. William James Hunter, D-East Chicago. House Speaker Richard C. Bodine, D-Mishawaka, had effectively blocked any introduction of bills in the lower chamber until Branigin outlined his program in a 15-minute address to a joint session Tuesday afternoon.

'Right To Work' Law In Senate INDIANAPOLIS UPI —Repeal of the controversial “right to work’’ law, expected to be the first measure enacted by the Democratic-controlled 1965 Indiana Legislature, was scheduled for its next step toward passage today in the Senate. President Pro Tern Jack Mankin, D-Terre Haute, predicted that the bill would be approved on second reading today with the addition of one amendment, an emergency clause to speed up the effective date of the repeal. Mankin’s timetable called for final Senate approval of the bill Thursday, Meanwhile, the 15 minority senators held a caucus Tuesday night to discuss the RTW repealer. Minority leader Sen. Charles Maddox of Otterbein said after the meeting that no vote was taken among the

group.

He said the GOP lawmakers merely discussed the proposal and “two or three” amendments that might be proposed for the bill, but no vote was taken and the group decided each senator should vote as he felt on the matter.
