Robbery Staged At City Hall t 'BUFFALO, N. Y. UPI — Two nattily dressed men held up the treasurer’s office at city hall today and escaped with cash and checks unofficially estimated at $200,000, police said. The ejty treasurer was struck by one of the thieves.

I Police said one man, believed to be armed, walked into the office and demanded money from a cashier. City Treasurer Melvin Elliott was slugged by one of the bandits and was then taken to

a hospital.

Police said a citizen grappled with one bandit outside city hall. The thieves got into a car and a policeman reportedly fired a shot at the fleeing auto.

Faces Sentencing FORT WAYNE UPI—James Lee Greene, 19, who lived in a church organ loft several days after bolting to freedom from a burglary hearing, will be sentenced in Allen Circuit Court next Monday. Soecial Judge J. Byron Hayes postponed sentencing for a presentence investigation the court had ordered was not completed in time for a Dec. 28 court session. Greene pleaded guilty Dec. 16 to a charge of first-degree burglary. That was the charge he faced when early last year he fled from the courtroom during his arraignment. After he was captured later in Chicago, it was learned that Greene hid in the organ loft of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church here for a few days after his escape.

FORT WAYNE UPI—Deputy Coroner H. Paul Miller ruled Monday that Herman Maxwell, 53, died of a heart attack induced by excitement in fighting a fire in his second-story apartment.
