DePauw University’s swimming and wrestling teams hit the road yesterday and came up with a pair of victories in Decatur and Charleston, Illinois, the season’s first for both squads. After losing to Indiana Central and Miami of Ohio, Coach Ted Katula's varsity wrestlers dumped Millikin University, 21-9, taking five of the eight matches. Roger Davies (123) won by forfeit, Steve Nice (167) and Ralph Larsen (hywt) won pins, and Tom Newunan (147) and Sky Huck (157) recorded decisions. Only Tiger losers were John Ferguson. 5-3, in the 130-pound class, Mike Maeder, 4-2 in the 137-pound class, and Fred Wen-
delboe, 4-2, at the 177-pound
level.
John DeLong and Greg Mutz, a pair of Tiger Sophomores, captured two blue ribbons each to power their team to a 51-44 ! ! swimming victory over Eastern ! | Illinois. DeJong earned firsts in the , 60 and 100-yard freestyle events in times of 29.7 and 55.5, and ! Mutz picked up points in the 160-yard individual medley (1:44.4) and 200-yard butterfly (2:22.2). Diver Tom McClain added five more points for DePauw and the Tigers’ 400-yard medley reley team, in a time of 4:12, captured the remaining first place for what proved to be the sevent point winning margin.

tle field.

Manual, perhaps fielding its strongest club since the days of the VanArsdale twins, now stars at Indiana, was prompted from 18th spot to a tie for ninth after clipping Columbus’ 47-game regular season winning streak, 79-71.
