Re-siding Gives New Life To House of Yesteryear

BEFORE: shaggy clapboard and outmoded porch make this old house an eyesore. AFTER: removing porch and re-siding with mineral fiber made drastic difference.
Hom&’Styling, like hair styling, changes with the times. A house that was attractive 30 or 40 years ago may be a neighborhood eyesore today. Updating it does not necessarily mean extensive, expensive remodeling. Often an obsolescent exterior can be modernized simply by removing gingerbread trim and applying new siding and roofing, carefully chosen for color, texture, and durability. Re-siding with a factory-fin-ished material such as mineral fiber is a sound investment because the initial outlay will be well repaid in the long run by savings on painting and repair jobs. The modern look and the low-maintenance requirements of the new siding will also add to
the sales appeal of the house. This re-siding treatment is not reserved for older homes alone. Siding contractors report that many of their customers are new* home owners facing their first ex* terior painting jobs-usually only three or four years after moving in. They are having pre-finished mineral fiber applied over the original siding to scratch painting bills from the budget for years to come. Although it doesn’t have to be painted, it can be-either by the do-it-yourselfer or a professional —if the owner wants to change the exterior color scheme of his house. Otherwise, mineral fiber siding simply needs to be washed ! occasionally to restore its fresh color. Dirt can’t penetrate its .hard finish.

You'll get so much Wout of that Christmas check if y ou invest it— particularly in a lifetime of pleasure forthe entire family, a Van Gogh, maybe? A 75-foot yacht? Frankly, we were thinking on a more modest scale. Like a Conn Organ. And you can be sure that every member of your family will like the Conn—not merely as a distinguished addition to your home or a joy to listen to, but as an instrument they can play. And we mean play because with Conn's “Instant Music’’ method anyone can play the way professional musicians do—in a matter of minutes. You push keys and tabs and pedals—not buttons. You make real organ music—not raucous noises. You make a mighty smart investment when you choose a Conn, the professional quality instrument made by C. G. Conn, Ltd., world's largest manufacturer of band instruments. Eight superb models, starting at $995. Low monthly terms. Come in
today. See, hear, play, select your Conn Organ.
