No Settlement Seen In Strike TERRE HAUTE UPI — A strike against the Tribune-Star Publishing Co., now in its fifth week, remained deadlocked today with no indication that a settlement was in sight. About 300 members of four unions have been on strike in a contract dispute against the city’s two newspapers, the morning Terre Haute Star and the afternoon Terre Haute Tribune, since Oct. 22. Several meetings have been held, with federal mediators sitting in, but no progress was reported. Earlier this week, a union spokesman said the strike may not be settled until next March. Company officials said no new meetings were scheduled. They declined further comment. A union spokesman said members of the striking unions were seeking a $5 weekly pay increase and fringe benefits.

Bakery Robbed
COLUMBUS, Ind. UPI — Sap’h Doughnut Mill, an allnight bakery, was held up and robbed of $432 late Thursday ! night by two men. Dorothy Moore and Kathleen Blake, who went on duty as clerks, said one bandit stood in the door holding a gun while the other took the money from a cash register.
Ontario. When completed, the monorail would be the only one of this type and size in the nation. At present there is a one-mile monorail from downtown Seattle, Wash., to the site of the Seattle Exposition, another operates at Disneyland and there is one at the New York World's Fair. The proposed facility at Union Station would include passenger ticketing and processing, a heliport, automobile parking and the monorail. The point-to-point monorail between Union Station and the airport would be elevated 20 feet and would whisk passengers across the city in 12 to 15 minutes for $1.50 per passenger. Eventually Union Station would include facilities for vertical and short takeoff aircraft. According to Moore, the planes using these facilities probably would be making commercial flights up to 600 miles, | providing links between centers of large metropolitan areas. Moore said the monorail sys-

Plan Monorail Airport Service LOS ANGELES UPI—The airplane passenger of the future may find his trip to the airport a far cry from that taken by his present-day counterpart. Instead of having to fight frustrating traffic congestion, he may find going to the air- ! port as quick and as comfortable as his trip aboard the luxurious jetliner. The Los Angeles City Department of Airports has a plan on the drawing boards to provide monorail service to future air travelers. Clifton A. Moore, manager of the department’s Downtown Air Terminal project, said that, according to present plans, high speed trains will link the downtown area and four other metropolitan points with International Airport, possibly by mid1967. The Airports department plans to begin construction of a downtown terminal soon after July 1, 1965. It would provide service between Union Station near Civic Center, now a railroad depot, and the airport about 15 miles southwest of the city’s center. Key outlying areas being considered by the Airport Department for terminal locations are the San Fernando Valley, Century City, Orange County and
