AUSTIN, Tex. (UPI) — The state capitol building of Texas contains 500 rooms and has 18 acres of floor space. It was built in the three-year period 1885-1888 of pink granite from Marble Falls, Tex. The building is 528 feet long and 290 feet wide, not counting steps. Its great dome is 311 feet high, making the Texas capitol second in size only to the national capitol.

A second part of the offering will go to secure a woman staff member for the Department of Cooperation Between Men and Women of the African Churches. A top priority. must be the training and education of women and girls for leadership and it is hoped
in this way to Insure attention to their concerns and needs in a growing program. All through 1964 thousands of United Church Women gathered week after week in homes and churches to work together on the World Community Day material aid projects. This year clothing for school children in Africa and school bags have been chosen as a fitting supplement to the education bureau project chosen for the offering. These schoolbags should be brought to the World Cimmunity Day observance at Charterhouse on Friday, November 6.
