life raft told authorities today he and four other men were machine-gunned by a Cuban government patrol boat in the Florida Straits. The rescued man, Carlos Herhandez, 23, of Miami, apparently was the only survivor. He was found drifting on a life raft this morning by the U.S. tanker Pearchum. He was taken to Key West by the Coast Guard cutter Swift Point. Two bodies were found later by a Coast Guard search boat about 10 miles from Key West.
