Dixie Voters Hear Miller SARASOTA. Fla. UPI — Republican vice presidential candidate William E. Miller ends his quest for Southern votes today with two appearances in Florida and one in Tennessee less than 24 hours ahead of President Johnson. Miller scheduled a breakfast

meeting with GOP workers here and an airport rally at Leesburg, from where he flies to Nashville, the last stop on his first Southern campaign. Miller goes to St. Joseph, Mo., late this afternoon. The New York congressman was to speak in Nashville on the steps of the War Memorial Building, which is to be the site of President Johnson’s scheduled address Friday. Wednesday night in Miami, a crowd of 5,000 persons, includ-

ing 500 Cuban refugees, heard Miller criticize the Cuban policy of the Kennedy and Johnson administration and promised that under Barry Goldwater there would be “dedication to freedom instead of accommodation to tyranny.”

Bubblegum To Be Passed Out INDIANAPOLIS UPI—Democratic state chairman J. Manfred Core said seven tons of bubblegum will be distributed in an election campaign demonstration Oct. 17 in Indiana

cities and towns.

Core said a “Main Street USA for HHH and LBJ" will be organized in nearly every city and town in the state for 2 p. m. on that date, and one million pieces of gum and two million pieces of campaign material will be handed out. “On every main street and in every shopping center where the program is staged, a recording of a message from the President to the people of Indiana will be played,” Core said. “Campaign materials of all kinds will be passed out and the bubblegum will go to children

in the vicinity.”
