Johnson Returns To White House WASHINGTON UPI — President Johnson returned to the White House today from a twoday Western tour marked by new disclosures on nuclear controls and weapons defenses — and huge crowd acclaim. The President’s “non-politi-cal” journey to five states and a Canadian province ended at 2 a. m. EDT when his “Air Force One” jet transport touched down at Andrews Air Force Base, MdJohnson was in jovial spirit and obviously delighted with the trip to Montana Washing ton, Oregon, California, Utah and British Columbia. He was cheered by polls and reports from Democratic leaders in the five states about his election chances. He didn't even mind the soreness and pain in his fingers which resulted from handshakes with hundreds of supporters — most of them in Sacramento. Calif., where he climaxed his travels Thursday. The only dampener, literally ,was the rain which marred his trip Wednesday to Vancouver and the border community of Blaine, Wash. It was there he signed papers implementing the Canadian-American Columbia River treaty.
Man Killed In Tractor Mishap ELLETTSVTLLE, Ind. UPI — Ivan Kaylor, 52, Ellettsville. was killed Thursday in a trac-tor-mower accident in a pasture near his farm home. Monroe County authorities said Kaylor apparently fell off the tractor and was struck by the mower as it plunged down a hill into a pond.

Fatal Accident In Tennessee ELIZABETHTON, Tenn. UPI — A local man was killed and an Indiana couple was injured in a head-on collision on a county road here Thursday. The victim was identified as McKinley Mann, 46. The injured were identified as Mr. and Mrs- Robert Honeycutt of Crown Point, Ind. Mrs. Honeycutt was listed in fair condition and her husband was treated for minor injuries received in the collision. According to authorities, the | Mann vehicle was traveling west and collided with the other car on a sharp curve on the Stony Creek Highway just inside the eastern part of the city.
Man Was Blind FORT WAYNE. Ind. UPI — A policeman shot and wounded a 21-year-old man who threatjened him with a butcher knife in a drunken rage Thursday, then learned the man was blind since birth. Officer Jack Schall was dej scribed as unnerved when he discovered after the shooting that Eric A. Ellyson, Fort Wayne, was blind. Ellyson, taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital with a bullet wound in each leg, didn't blame Schall, however.

B. A P. W. Club In Dinner Meeting The Greencastle Business and Professional Women's Club held a dinner meeting at Hunt’s Pleasant Acres restaurant on Wednesday evening There were ' thirty members and guests present. The tables were very j pretty with bronze tapers and yellow mums. At each place there was a tiny bronze paper figurine on which was printed the club slogan of the year "Hand in Hand with Youth.” The guest speaker was Miss Lela O’Hern of Terre Haute. Miss O'Hern was accompanied by Mrs. Gladys Pound, past President of the Terre Haute club. Miss O'Hern is District Director of all of the BPW clubs in the 6th District. She gave an interesting talk on the aims and objectives of the club for the year and told of the various projects carried on by the clubs of the district. After the business meeting a social hour was enjoyed by those present.

Miss Mary Colleen Heavin and Marvin Lee Smitherman were united in marriage August 30 at the Coatesville Methodist Church. The Reverend Allen Reynolds performed the double ring ceremony. Mr. and Mrs. Irvine Bennett, Coatesville, are the parents of the bride. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Smitherman. CoaUsville. Miss Sandra Cottom, Terre Haute, was maid of honor. Mrs Mary Jane Hartung, Amo, was bridesmaid and John Smitherman, Crawfordsville, was best man. Ronald Lydick and William Hartung, both of Amo, and Ray Keller of Fort Wayne were ushers. The bride wore a gown of white satin with a chapel train, with a fitted bodice and a Sweetheart neckline with threequarter sleeves. A panel of lace and pearls was on the front of the dress. Her veil was shoulder length secured with roses at the top. Her bouquet was of white Camellia. Mrs. Hartung's dress was a pale blue princess style and she carried a bouquet of white CamelliaThe flower girls dresses were mint green princess style. They each carried baskets of flowers. Organ music was played by Mrs. Marjorie Wingler. She played the selection "One HandOne Heart” and Miss Connie Jamison sang “The Lord’s i Prayer.” Mrs. Jean Bennett, mother of the bride, wore a jade green ; sheath dress. Her corsage was yellow rosebuds. Mrs- Smitherman. mother of the bridegroom, selected a beige sheath dress under lace and her corsage was | red rosebuds. The reception was held in the , basement of the church. Mr. and Mrs. Smitherman left for their wedding trip through Wisconsin ajid Michigan. The bride is a senior in the I.U. School of Nursing Mr.
