Real mayonnaise, lime flavored gelatin and lemon juice give it a delightful piquant flavor. Use unpeeled apples for bright color, and serve on a bed of crisp lettuce leaves garnished with apple slices and walnuts.

Waldorf Souffle Salad 14 cup real mayonnaise

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup boiling water

1 (3-ounce) package lime

flavored gelatin

14 cup water

2 tablespoons lemon juice

1 cup diced unpeeled apple

14 cup diced celery V 2 cup chopped walnuts

Pour boiling water over gelatin in bowl; stir until gelatin ia completely dissolved. Add cold water, lemon juice, real mayonnaise and salt; blend with rotary heater. Pour into freezing tray or metal loaf pan. Chill in freezing unit until firm abouf 1 inch from edge of pan but still soft in center, about 20 to 25 minutes. Turn mixture into bowl and whip with rotary heater until fluffy and thick. Fold in apple, celery and walnuts. Pour into 1-quart mold or individual molds. Chill in refrigerator (not freezing unit) until firm, about 45 to 60 minutes. Unmold. Serve on crisp salad greens, garnished with apple slices and walnuts, if desired. Makes 4 to 6 servings.

Eight members answered roll call with “Where I First Attended School.” The hostess gave contests, which were won by Alberta Gorham, Lena Bryan * and Frances McGinnis. De■j lielous refreshments were served. Next meeting will be with Flossie Zeiner. The “Help One Another” club met Friday, August 28, with Mrs. Grace Arnold. Seven members and one guest, Dorothy Sears, enjoyed a delicious Pitchin dinner at noon. The work for th« day was setting quilt blocks together to make a quilt-top. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Tharp Of Great Lakes. 111., spent Labor Day holiday with his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Tharp. Mrs. Effie Kennedy of Noblesville and grandson. James, visited Thursday afternoon with Mrs. Edith McKamey. James ts here from Mexico City to attend Culver Academy. The W.S.C.S. met last Thursday to quilt. Next Thursday they will meet to quilt and the regular meeting will follow j lunch. The pecans are here. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Arnold have been visiting relatives in Greenwood. Mrs. Daisy Youngerman and Mr. and Mrs. Arless Decker of j Indianapolis spent Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. Cleo Schuck. After one week, the school enrollment was 527. The Mothers Club met Tuesday afternoon with Margaret Robinson with 17 present. The hostess gave a contest and served dainty refreshments. The Stitch and Chatter Club met Wednesday afternoon with Irma Morehart. Fourteen members answered roll call with “The Girls.” Lela Hunter gave contests which were won by Marjorie Oliver and Edith Ruark. The hostess served tasty refreshments. The next meeting will be September 16 with Ida Bowman. The boys of the M.Y.F., with their sponsor, Vernie Zeiner, had a “Work Day" Saturday. That evening they had a very enjoyable “Fun Night” in the Recreation Building, which was followed by a very inspirational candle-lighted worship service in the church sanctuary. Beth Anne Jones of Roach1 vHlle speht Sunday with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Robinson. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Martin of Greencastle spent the week-end with the Puckett children while her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Puckett and son. Jimmy, visited relatives in Virginia. Three new members of Bethel Baptist Church were baptized Sunday at the Grencastle Baptist Church. On Tuesday night Mr. and Mrs. John Buttrworth and family were surprised when his sister Camie George and eight children of Mundelein, 111., and his mother, Lillian Butterworth of South Bend arrived for a short visit. They left Thursday morning.

FINCASTLENEWS Many from here attended the State Fair the past week. Mrs. Nona Routh and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Shannon and daughters, Sally and Gloria, attended commencement at the Lincoln Chiropractic College in Indianapolis Saturday. Kenneth Todd, a nephew of Mr. Shannon, and Mrs. Routh. was one of the gradutaes. His home is in Australia and he will be returning there to go in partnership with his father in this work. Miss Sharon McGaughey received a bad burn on one hand while working at the Y Palace. She and her sister, Judy, are preparing for school in State College at Terre Haute. Paula and Jay Houston are visiting their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Williams.

blue ribbon on sewing and Shirley Asher received a red ribbon on home furnishing. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hall and son, Floyd, and Mrs. Olive Baird attended the State Fair Saturday. Mrs. Mae Priest and Mrs. Alice Keck had supper in New Ross Saturday evening.
