THE TICKET—The Democratic ticket and wives look out over the enthusiastic throng in Convention Hall, Atlantic City. From left: Muriel Humphrey, HHH, Lady Bird, and LBJ.
Fry bacon in a skillet over low heat, or about 4 inches above gray coals until bacon is crisp. Remove bacon and reserve. Add onion, celery and green pepper to the hot fat. Saute vegetables until tender. Add potatoes, drained King crab, pickle, parsley. Blend well. Mix French dressing with curry powder, tomato paste and sugar. Add mixture to potato salad. Toss until well blended and hot. Just before serving, stir in sour cream. Serve hot, garnished with sliced hard cooked eggs and bits of reserved crisp bacon. (May be prepared ahead, and heated before serving. Allow plenty of time for thorough heating over barbecue coals, for this is a substantial salad. Add a little water, if necessary, to keep enough moisture over the neat.) Serves 6.
