Democrats Cheer Bobby Kennedy ATLANTIC CITY UPI — A 16 - minute ovation by cheering Democrats launched Robert F. Kennedy today on a political career of his own. Some predicted it would reach its climax some day in the White House. The spontaneous outburst for the attorney general and brother of the late President at Convention Hall Thursday night was nanimously viewed by poI os more as a tribute - martyred President than
! the sympathetic attention, the beautiful floral tributes and other courtesies shown at the
passing of our dear beloved to the 38 - year - old Bobby. ’ husband and father, Clarence
However, it came as powerful evidence that the Kennedy name is magic to millions. Practical politicians saw it also as confirmation of President Johnson's judgement some weeks ago that Kennedy had to be shut out of the race early if he was to bc denied the second spot on the Democratic ticket. The attorney general's immediate goal is a New York Sen•ate seat now held by Sen.* Kenneth B. Keating, a liberal Republican. With the backing of party leaders, Kennedy expects to get the Democratic nomination at a state conven-
