ALTERNATE WINNERS
Pictured above are smartly dressed Mrs. Rex Rawles and Lynn Mullis, alternate winners in the “Make it yourself with wool” contest held this week at the Community Building at the Putnam County Fairgrounds. Mrs. Rex Rawles was the alternate in the senior division and Miss Mullis the alternate in the junior division.
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Crawley, and daughter, who have been house guests of Mrs. Crawleys’ parents Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Alexander the past few weeks left last Monday for Hawaii where Mr. Crawley will be on duty serving his Country. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Yochum called on Mr. and Mrs. Forest Edwards of Linden Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Good. Mr. and Mrs. Maynard Hurst, Mrs. Mae Truex and Florence Coffee called on Harry and Clara Mabs Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Truex returned home with the Goods for a few days visit. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd O’Haver and son Mike were Sunday night guests of Mrs. Russell O’Haver. They attended the Burk reunion Sunday. Mrs. Earl Mitchell spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Ball and son Jim of Bellmore. Mrs. D. P. Alexander, Mrs. Ray Clodfelter and Mr. John Vermillion drove to Indianapolis, where they visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Sanford Romine who took them on to South Bend to spend the week end at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Welter. Others from this area who will be there for the week end are Mr. Mrs. Ralph Clodfelter, Mrs. Manford Clodfelter and Mrs. Clarence Clodfelter. On Sunday Mrs. Maude Welter, William's mother will be honored with a birthday dinner, which the above people named will attend. They also expect Mrs. Ed Alexander of Texas to be present for the occasion. Mrs. Bertha Magill who left Friday for her home in Miami Florida was honored with a dinner last Tuesday evening at the home of her sister Mrs. Jake Martin.
