UNCLE SAM, FARMER COLLEGE STATION, Tex. UPI — Texas A&M University reports that the United States is the world’s largest exporter of agricultural products, shipping the production of nearly 60 million acres abroad each year.

lighting Is Light In Central Laos VIENTIANE, Laos UPI — Fighting in central Laos was reduced to light skirmishing today but informed American sources said reconnaissance flights over the area by U.S. planes will continue. The skirmishing was going on in the low hills southwest of the town of Muong Kheung at the

edge of the Plaine des Jarres 125 miles north of Vientiane. Neutralist troops loyal to Premier Souvanna Phouma were attempting to hold Muong Kheung and maintain a line of retreat to the southwest against encircling movements by Communist Pathlet Lao forces. The Communist threat to the important Mekong River town of Pak San, 70 miles northeast of Vientiane, appeared to have ended. Pathlet Lao troops moved to within 20 miles of the town before withdrawing Tuesday, apparently on order from Pathet Lao leaders.

Letters Describe South Viet Nam

politicians back home?”

The background color of the skin—not the blush—is the best indicator of ripeness in peaches. Look for a whitish or pellowish background color.
