May Be Mediator THE HAGUE UPI — Secretary of State Dean Rusk intervened in the Cyprus crisis today in what appeared to be a possible mediator’s role between NATO members Greece and Turkey. Rusk, here to preside over a three-day NATO foreign ministers’ meeting opening Tuesday, met separately with the Portuguese foreign minister, Antonio Nogueira.
Broker Dies NEW YORK UPI —Georgia Price, 84, the vaudeville star who traded the boards of Broadway for the “big board” of Wall Street died Sunday of an apparent heart attack. A Vaudeville performer at the age of five, later a popular radio and screen comic, Price organized the brokerage firm of George E. Price A Co. in 1934 and bought a seat on the stock exchange.

spade. South dared not discard from dummy, since East would win the trick and shift to clubs. Declarer ruffed the second spade in dummy, drew one round of trumps with the king, and led diamonds. East refused the first diamond, took the jack of clubs. South was now washed up. If he finessed, the finesse would lose. If he put up the ace of clubs and led a trump to dummy’s queen, East would ruff
