weeks at flims and instruction, we, along with four women from Crawfordsville, divided against one another at the Crawfordsville Lanes. The league, which is knows as the “Splits’ and Misses League’’ ended its competition. While bowling, the league put money in which was distributed April 8th at the Country Kitchen where the league had its banquet. The money was divided into groups of prizes with the money going to the ones with the highest team series and high team game. Along with other prizes the teams ending up in first, second, third, and fourth place in standings won money according to their standing at the end of the
league. The officers for the next year were chosen with the ones keeping their jobs as had them last year. President, Mrs. Ethel Mae Simpson; Vice-President, Mrs. Marilyn Lashley; Sec. and Treasurer, Mrs. Shirley Jarvis; Sergeant of Arms, Mrs. Barbara Redifer. Those attending the bowling league were Mrs. Judy McGaughey, Mrs. Louise Gardner, Mrs. Ida Mae Baird, Mrs. Shirley Jarvis, Mrs. Delores Proctor, Mrs. Norma Chaplain, Mrs. Phyllis Clodfelter, Mrs. Barbara Redifer, Mrs. Ethel Mae Simpson, Mrs. Mary Lou Ades, Mrs. Marilyn Lashley of Russellville; Mrs. Virginia Eskew, Mrs. Esther Hay; Mrs. Roberta Alexander, and Mrs. Frances Spurgeon from Crawfordsville. League Units Meet This W eek The April units of the League of Women Voters will meet this week to discuss public assistance in Indiana. The topic has two main divisions: the department of public welfare and the “poor relief” administration by the township trustee. The committee will present information resulting from interviews with the local director of the department of public welfare, a department of public welfare board member, a caseworker, and a sampling of township trustees.
