Writer Is Mother LONDON UPI — Miss Shelagh Delaney, 25-year-old author of the stage and screen hit “A Taste of Honey,” about a girl who has an illegitimate baby, gave birth to a daughter on March 4, London newspapers reported today. Miss Delaney, who is not publicly known to be married, was quoted by the Daily Mirror as saying “I’m not being a hypocrite. I’ve announced the birth. That’s as far as I’m going to go I don’t want to discuss it any more.”

Up To High Court WASHINGTON UPI — The future nationality of Mrs. Angelika Schneider, a Smith College graduate and now a woman without a country, today rested with the U. S. Supreme Court. Mrs. Schneider, 30, a native of Germany, came to the United States at about the age of 5 and was naturalized in 1950. Her case is before the Supreme Court because she married Dieter Schneider, a German lawyer, and returned to live in
Germany.

UPI —Mrs. Malcolm Peabody, 72, mother of the Massachusetts governor, told a federal judge she decided to be arrested during a civil rights demonstration because ‘‘we’ve got to do something besides talk.” “All my life I’ve been concerned about discrimination and injustice,” she told District Judge Byran Simpson who heard arguments ror the second day on a request that he take jurisdiction of the cases of nearly 300 civil rights demonstrators arrested in St. Augustine.
Elected to the office of Business Manager of the yearbook was Gerald York and to the office of Editor, Kathy Carriker. It was election time this week at G.H.S. Next year’s sophomore, Junior and senior class officer candidates worked hard at their campaigns. The halls were decorated with clever posters; some of the candidates even distributed candy, campaign literature and buttons. The candidates carefully prepared the*speeches they gave in front of their classes. Voting day finally came and results will be announced later.
