SPECIAL GREEK CYPRIOT POLICE FORCE Recruits for the Greek Cypriot police force undergo training outside troubled Nicosia, the capital of Cyprus. Some 10,000 Greek Cypriots are reported to have volunteered for tl)e special police force called for by the Cyprus President Archbishop Makarios to supervise the disarmament of civilians, who have been ordered to surrender their arms. Over the weekend, Greek Cypriots once again took their faith into their own hands along with their guns as shootings broke out between Greek and Turkish Cypriots in the northern suburbs of Nicosia and two other Greek villages. Other intervention by British military patrols prevented further shootings involving Greek and Turkish com rnunities.

Word Is Awaited from Gambler WASHINGTON UPI - Senate investigators expected word today from Las Vegas gamblerhotelman Edward Levinson on whether he will testify about business deals with Robert G. (Bobby) Baker. Levinson notified the Senate Rules Committee Friday that he v oulri srive his answer today. He has been sought for nearly two wee 1 . to testify on outside business ventures of Baker, former Senate Democratic secretary. William Kentor, a Chicago meat importer, was called to testify at today’s public hearing. Kentor pays Baker a finder’s commission on meat from a slaughterhouse in Haiti which is owned by the Murchison interest of Texas. In the complex meat deal, Baker shared fees with Jose Benitez, recently resigned Interior Department aide. Baker wound up collecting from both the buyer and seller of the Haitian beef.

NAVAL DISENGAGEMENT Adm. U. S. Grant Sharp J*(top), commander-in-chief of the Pacific Fleet, will replace Adm. Harry D. Felt (lower) as com-mander-in-chief of U. S. Pacific Forces this summer, according to a report in Washington, D. C.
