Len Pennyworth Says: Puddles in Drive Would Test True Gallantry of Young Man
When Junior brought his new girl friend to meet us, I was amazed at how his manners had improved since romance had come into his life. He hopped out of the car on his side, raced around to hers and opened the door. After assisting her to alight, he took a firm grip on her arm and steered her into our living room where he took her coat and even helped her to a chair. As they left, I said to the wife, “I’m glad there are no puddles in the driveway or the kid might take off his new sports jacket for her to walk on.” My better half said she could remember back in the dim past when I had a little chivalry, too.

START CHICKS EARLY You can cash in on higher seasonal egg prices in August and September when you start chicks in January or February. To get highest egg profits, you need high producers in full production at the time egg prices peak. You can devote more time to chick care in the early months and they will require less time during the busy work season. Contact your Farm Bureau Co-op to place your chick order now. With tongue in cheek I observed that the young lady looked healthy enougn to open her own car door and certainly she didn't need to be held up on level ground. I've always preached that people didn't need help until they had tried to help themselves. I learned this self-help lesson years ago when I went to Central National Bank to discuss a possible mortgage. I was informed that the bank will go all out to help those who have already helped themselves to the best of their ability. This sort of puts Central and me on a partnership basis since we help each other. Adv.
