SAFETY

Oddly enough, your safety often depends on ... steel pipe! In many cities, pedestrians caught in the middle of busy intersections are protected by safety islands surrounded by sturdy buttwelded steel pipe.

What's a traffic light mounted on to assure that it will remain in place even during high winds and violent storms? Strong, longlasting steel pipe, of course! Meanwhile, steel pipe conduits protect the electric power lines that keep traffic signals in operation.

Outdoor semaphore stands and communication systems, used to keep U.S.A. railroads safe, almost always rely on butt-welded steel pipe. Cummltte* «f SU*! Pip* Producer*. A.I.S.f. K
